2019 Michael Mondavi 'M' Napa Valley Red
From the Seller
"If the agents come across anymore M by Michael Mondavi please let me know. Holy đ. My neighbor opened his up from the cyber Monday sale and it was so good I went and got mine out of my cellar tonight and we polished that one off too. What a fantastic wine." - Geoff Gibson, Wine Spies Operative
Our first Appy Hour of 2025 is off to a roaring start.
Who needs legacy wine media when we have our own outstanding Operatives on the case!? Literally and figuratively - some bought cases of the 2021 'M' when we offered it. And if you were one of the select few, congrats.
If you missed out, or you only snagged a few bottles before realizing you needed many more, here's your chance at redemption.
96 POINTS! For an eye-popping, brain melting price, too!
Truly, where else will you find a wine of this caliber at 60% OFF? Google your hearts away and you'll find plenty of options but you can get nearly THREE bottles at our $85 price.
M by Michael Mondavi represents the pinnacle of his winemaking efforts. He puts all his focus into one wine, the âcrème de la crèmeâ if you will. Itâs a proprietary blend, anchored with Cabernet Sauvignon in the lead, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petite Verdot rounding things out. In the glass, it delivers a tour de force of blackberry liqueur, roasted plum, mocha, sweet tobacco, and a hint of Christmas fruitcake. It shows incredible depth, precision, and balance, with a dusty, sweet finish that lingers forever. This beast needs time, so decant for a few hours, and if you hold off a few more years, a bigger reward awaits.
These always score huge, and hang with the big gun Napa Cabs that cost $100, $200, and much more. Jeb Dunnuck for one âwas blown away by the 2018 M by Michael Mondavi, an incredible wineâ and he found âplenty of classic 2019 richness and straight-up sexinessâ in the this one.
Irresistible stuff, for sure. Please do not miss this one.
96 points - James Suckling "Aromas of black currants, fresh green bell peppers and violets followed by intense graphite and pencil shaving notes with tobacco leaves, cloves, cedar and underlying gravel minerality Wonderfully structured full-bodied wine with firm yet polished tannins with a bright acid backbone. Very precisely framed. Sound and energetic yet it has a lovely finesse in the mid-palate and finish. A blend of 95% cabernet sauvignon and 5% cabernet franc. Aged for 21 months in 75% new French oak barrels. Give this more time to come around."
